I haven’t been updating this spacefor a simple reason – I haven’t been hauling in a long time!

for the entire month of april, I did not buy a single piece of makeup.
o.m.g.

well anyway, I did get some skincare and fragrances though.

1. got the garnier aqua defense eye roll on and it’s not effective at hydrating my eyes at all! nivea was the best.
2. got 2 bottles of Moon Sparkle from the Luxasia sale at $25 each, for a 50ml bottle. sweet deal!
3. got the Seikisho Exfoliating Massage Gel, which I have been wanting to get since a long time ago at a promotion price of $18! which is, wonderful. spotted this deal from like 100 meters away by serendipity at lot1’s BHG, which is really the arm pit of Singapore but that’s another story.


so to kick start this new (and exciting, I presume) month, I hauled for MAC.

I’m joining the bandwagon for MSFs. I’m starting to see what’s the hype all about. the veinings are like so damn pretty! it’s a work of art on it’s own. and yes, I’m loving makeup for the item itself, and not how it looks on my face. heck, I don’t even think I would want to use much of it, if any. the dome shape is just too lovely to flatten!

and beauty powders! known for being useless, I assume, bcause the color payoff is rather sheer and it’s like not really the colour to pose as highlighters. (so what are these for actually?) but anyway, who cares, it’s TOO PRETTY!

Fix+ Rose smells so heavenly. though I think Fix+ isn’t the best makeup fixer out there, this version is too lovely to skip. it’s a steal at $25 locally since it’s US$17 online.

the 2 regular items are my mother’s. powder blush in Margin (frost) and powerpoint eye pencil in engraved.

I was so tempted to get MORE items but I shall leave getting the regular items to another day. LE items are of higher urgency at the moment.

and like seriously, I’m more thrilled getting these treasures than getting the NTU CBE offer (which I did not have any intention of attending when I applied for it -_- ).

Lunasol haul!

The era of Coffret D’Or (eye shadow palettes) in the ‘expensive’ and ‘unattainable-but-I-still-buy-them-anyway-because-I’m-a-loser-at-makeup’ is history. From struggling whether to buy 1 palette (PK-01) to buying 2 others (but they’re so pretty!!), I’ve moved on to Lunasol & the exact same scenario occured again. But all in the span of 2 days. I’m a goner.

Now I’d pay the price of a Coffret D’Or palette willingly like omg these Lunasol ones are $77!!!

AND HOW DID I BUY 3??

Yesterday I took the plunge and got myself Lavender Coral after being converted into the purple eyeshadow religion due to the impressive effect from Coffret D’Or’s 3D Lightning Eyes. Somehow I sort of regret this purchase because the purple looks similar indeed but whatever it’s so pretty so I’m keeping this. (But seriously, I could easily recreate the look. Swatches below)

Today, I went back to Takashimaya to grab these 2.


They, are, so, PRETTY! Well I only got hooked on green shadow yesterday, when I was creating a green eye look to match my green for exams outfit. And even though the attempt was horid (friends, don’t waste your time and money getting the 88 palette. It’s lousy.) I liked how green looked on me! I used to think green eyes were ugly!

Didn’t get any from the layer bloom series because I preferred vibrant and shimmery colours. The highly raved wisteria bloom looked kind of dull. And I don’t like how the colours are in the pan! Like with the metal thing around and not ‘fixed’ into the palette? It looks.. like a manufacturing defect or something. But whatever. I won’t be surprised if I caved in and hauled on that.

And just today, I got complements about how pretty my purple eyes were! YAY!

MY HELLO KITTY HAUL CAME TODAY! AND SO DID MY HAUL FROM HQHAIR! YAY.

Will start of subtly first in case I die of hyperventilation while type. From HQHair, I got the UD set for my best friend. Well apparently I ordered it from ASOS long ago but it never came -_-. Seriously ASOS is so unreliable. They said they’ll send me a replacement and refund for my OOS item (which is the gift for my friend) but I have not received it yet. Whatever. I haven’t had time to check my bank account on whether they’ve refunded me but I highly doubt so. IM SO ANGRY. Can’t they just use registered mail? -_-. HQHair did, and the parcel was crazily big. LIKE SO CRAZY.

SEE THAT?? Feet was there for size comparison. I wear size 5 by the way, so yea I have small feet. If this was shipped via vpost the shipping is going to cost like $100 or something. Oh and its crazily heavy too. Well I paid like… S$30 for shipping for this and its registered mail so it’s kinda worth it. The smaller box isn’t though. I figured the parcel was to heavy so they had to be packaged separately.

The contents: TIGI hair care! My favorite. My curls are somewhat terribly maintained now so it’s time to fix it! With the shipping factored in, all the hair stuff cost just S$100? ITS CHEAP. I bet the shampoo in 750ml would cost like $40 ? $50? If it was sold here. I think this shampoo can last me the whole year! And I got a leave in moisturizer, the hair spray, and another shampoo from catwalk curl rocks. Got Root Boost and Fast Fixx too for occasional styling and some volume and stuff. Well, all I can say that all these, are just super cheap. It’s a salon brand ok! It’s not like it’s herbal essences or something (which I hate. It dries out my hair!). I got a benefit creaseless cream shadow in skinny jeans. Been wanting that for the longest time! And the train case is a free gift. Was so lucky to find a code online, yea, better than nothing. And the UD set needs no introduction.

The hair care was so cheap because I got them from the outlet website! COOL.

Ok here’s the star of the post…. The magical black box… can you see ‘MAC’?

HELLO KITTY! Well now that it’s here I’m kind of sick of it already actually. The hype has died down. But I still want to get nail lacquer from the stores when it launches. With much wit, luck, advice from a girl online and a dbs debit card, I managed to order from MAC cosmetics online the moment the collection launched! Yay! I was worrying for days and nights that my order may get rejected until I got the shipping confirmation. HAHA. Yea I’m a loser.

I got the brush set which comes with a kitty cup and 109se, 187se and 239se, glitter liner in kitty power, lipsticks in Fashion Mews, Big Bow and Most Popular, lip glasses in Sweet Strawberry, She Loves Candy and Fast Friends, and the beauty powder blush in Tippy & Fun and games.

The shades of the lippies aren’t exactly wearable on me and I don’t quite suit glaze lipsticks (they feather! Got to get a good lip primer and lip liner soon) but I’ll experiment! Fashion Mews really scares me but in a good way. Purple/ lavender/ lilac lips are the new black! That’s Fast Friends layered over Fashion Mews.

The brushes are wet from washing so shall leave that for another day.

And all my mac blushes. Well I only started on MAC like 9 months ago? So this is what I have so far. I’m a poor student without a job… Obviously, I like LE packaging. I’m not exactly fond of the regular black so yea..

The finishing of all these blushes are really different! The hello kitty ones are beauty powder blushes. They are like so fine and soft! Pink swoon is sheertone, devil is satin, and spaced out is sheet tone shimmer. Love all of them! So even though spaced out looks a lot like the fun & games blush, they’re different!

And now, I’ve got new targets for MAC. Like omg have you heard of the sugar sweet collection? And the A Rose Romance collection? I so want to get the MSF from sugar sweet and the BEAUTY POWDER from the rose collection! Like, the powder is in the shape of a rose! Like, carved that way or something, in the pan. It’s super pretty!!

The too faced glitter liners from asos came today in the regular mail. Well I’m glad it arrived before I got nasty. It’s so cute and shimmery!

So that’s 4 parcels today! Great day indeed. Shall get the pretty plastic drawers from muji to store my favorite makeup! Since they’re all so pretty..

I’ve decided i’ll grab these on thursday!

Would love many more but I guess these 2 are sufficient to land me bankrupt so thats all for now :)

Newest addition to my collection:

Coffret D’Or eyebrow pencil and powder! Cost $1 (after using a $50 voucher.)

Got it in BR-38. Sort of regret not getting the GY version! Like omg. Have been using and loving Kate’s BR3 powder and pencil (all the way from Japan by courtesy of Felicia Lim) but I don’t think the powder’s available locally. Well anyway, kind of disappointed to find out that the shade of the Coffret D’Or pencil is not similar to BR3. Omg. But sure hope it works!!

Shiseido pN: really good. BUT not my colour! what a pity.

Paul & Joe: not as food as pN’s. hmmm maybe I should clean up the pN brush and use it with this compact. Yea I think it’s the brush’s fault. The shape turned out to be kinda erm, unnatural.

Apparently thier entire range of products have undergone a facelift and the packaging would be maroon themed instead of shiny pink/ silver. There goes the princess factor. Oh well. Guess I’ll have to splurge on Jill Stuart instead.

nothing surprising but I was actually more excited about ‘new year makeup’ than clothes.

Got these yesterday!

P&J Disney Milky Lip Treatment and Coffret D’Or 3D Lightning Eyes 04

Read good reviews about the P&J lip treatment. I was always a victim of dry lips but initially didn’t find getting this lip treatment necessary. However I chanced upon it at Taka’s counter so I got it :) But wth I forgot to update the points on my P&J member card! I’m a P&J member since Sept 08. So far I’ve accumulated erm, probably close to 700 points? If only they allowed points accumulation at their warehouse/ expo sales or online purchases I would have crossed 1k already.


*btw, my nail colour (new!) is from mavala, Romantic. My mother bought it and it’s nice and bright with a slight pearl sheen!

Next will be the star of my purchase: 3D Lightning Eyes!

Omg this is far by my favorite range of palettes. I mentioned earlier, when I purchased the blue one, it has never crossed my mind that I would actually wear that blue ever. Likewise, I NEVER considered getting purple! But the other time I was at sephora I tried some purple shadow with silver glitter eyeliner, I was sold.

3D lightning eyes actually managed to kick out Lunasol for the best palette on cosmeベストコスメ大賞 and was awarded the best newcomer.

My other newer make up which haven’t made it on this site yet includes Maybelline Angelfit Liquid foundation and, I can’t rmb -_-. Well Angelfit Liquid Foundation is very lightweight and wearable. But it does not work well on areas with dry spells! Best for people with normal skin I guess. Oh wait, EVERYTHING is best for people with normal skin. On dry areas like under eye, cheeks, and post-pimple areas, it  flakes like mad? well not that mad, but just doesn’t work that well. I hate dry skin!! But overall it’s still alright. Loose powder is not really necessary. Down side is the lack of shades (colour doesn’t match me well! boo) and the packaging!! The cap is fragile and pump tends to get messy.

Oh the Mavala nail colour is wonderful!!  Smooth on application and dries really quickly. Previously the only Mavala product I’ve heard about was the lash treatment or something. There’re really good reviews about it.

My latest craze: Solid Perfume. Got the cherry blossom and rose one from L’Occitane yesterday! And the stila jade blossom one from strawberry net. Anything with the name blossom sounds cute.

Origins! Mostly given by my god mother. I bought the clear improvement mask from Metro earlier on. Loving their products!

I LOVE MAGAZINES WITH FREE GIFTS!

Borders, Kinokuniya or MPH often provide freebies with purchase of certain magazines! I got quite a number of makeup/ skincare products as a result. (and sometimes these are FULL SIZE!!) I had wanted a day moisturizer so I jumped at this chance. For just $5, I got a full size L’Oreal white perfect day moisturizer with SPF20! YAY! I kinda like the white perfect range. Especially the facial foam! The toner was ok too but most of the time I don’t really know how to judge the efficacy of toners.

My friend got me 女人我最大 from Taiwan! It comes with a free Chic Choc eye shadow :D

When I got news of lavshuca having a new loose powder, I freaked out and so wanted to get another one in Glow! (I have lucent). Their casing is so pretty. Their newer items are like getting less pretty nowadays. Got 2 lip jewellery mini lipsticks too! Cute!

Pictures so do not justify! It’s really to die for. To my surprise, the mix blush compact was actually quite big! It’s 8g. MAC’s regular blush is 6g, Shu Uemura 5g and Paul & Joe 4.5g or 4g, which are all on the mid to high end of $30+. Jill Stuart’s comes with a brush (which quality isn’t bad!) and built in mirror. So it’s really worth $63! The eyelash curler is a must have.

new found love: solid perfume!

Through my FYP I have discovered the goodness of solid perfume. Some may find it useless because uh, it’s uncommon. But to hell with conformists! There’re so many functions of solid perfume. (some of which I disovered from research)

As it is very discreet, the smell is only smelt by you when it’s brought to your nose. However as there is no alcohol volatility is MUCH lower than the usual EDT or EDP and thus the smell does last longer on the same area applied. This is very good when:

  1. you walk past something smelly and want to get a breath of ‘fresh air’
  2. you just like the smell and is addicted to it. but it’s inappropriate if you drench youself with the smell like the whole world can smell you!
  3. you like to have various scents you can smell all day. dab a varitey on different points!
  4. rub some on the seats of your car
  5. rub on the inside of dog collars for a pooch perfume
  6. rub on the inside of your wallet to get rid of dirty money smell
  7. apply sparingly on business cards — this japanese tradition makes your card unique and memorable

There are way more functions only limited by your imaginations.

Basically the production of solid perfume is pretty simple. Just oil (often mineral oil), beeswax, and fragrance. Of course other stuff can be added too.

So far I am thankful that I have yet to go crazy over collector’s level of solid fragrances. (think Estee Lauder; $10000) Solid perfumes can come in really cute/ dainty/ esquisite packaging which plumps up the value of the fragrance itself.

As for now, I shall explore into the more no frills class of  solid fragrance. I tried to get this off strawberrynet:

I would also like to get the Taiwan Shills solid perfume. In some spree it was only $4.20! So regret not getting.

Usually these cheap solid perfume comes in like 10g or something. Designer level ones contain probably only like, 0.5g? Though it looks cheap to manufacture, we should be aware that the fragrance content is around 20%, which is very high. Much higher than EDTs and EDPs. But of course, we can argue, the volume is comparatively lower obviously.

(but seriously, I think this is just a transition phase where something else triggers my curiousity and I suddenly felt how well this would fit in my new bag. I’ll be back rambling about Paul & Joe pretty soon.)

nano haul

Introducing my favorite eye palettes of the moment! Not as exaggerating as the 88 colour palette though.

I got this Heatherette Trio from a seller online. For months I have been debating with myself internally whether to get this because I love the packaging. It’s so shiny! I like. The colours look eccentric too. Eccentric > wearable. I’m into bright, striking colours lately. Neutral is so blah.

Went shopping with wee yesterday and I was considering whether to get 3D lightning eyes in the blue tones variation. The she was like saying ‘Just get it la! If you don’t get it today confirm plus chop you will come back some other day to get it.’ So very true. In fact yesterday was the day I came back to buy it.

I used to think this palette was awful and no one in the right mind would choose this colours for the eyes. But as months passed by, I don’t know. Haha.

Next to it is not a new palette, 01 pink tones. Side by side both look so pretty! Can’t wait to try my new blue palette soon.

All these palettes have something in common - they’re all so shiny and pretty! These are my favorite palettes of the moment.

Haul part 2

I went to war today at some super ulu place.

It was scary and not too victorious. I think I spent a total of 1.5h of my life queing for the makeup and payment. SCARY. I couldn’t believe I had the patience. There were so many discrepancies in the prices and the management there totally sucked. Seriously one of the worst sales I have been to in terms of the situation. However the selection was good. I was too late for the primer though & it was damn stupid that they didn’t have refills. My gut feeling tells me that the refills would be out soon or tmr or something but whatever.

Anyway, here it goes

Powder Foundation x 2 – this is a really old product. But I liked it. I was erm, heartbroken when my previous one shattered. And by that I mean that it totally pulverised beyond hope.

Creamy Compact — I just got the new version 2 days ago (seriously I least expected this sale to strike now) and wasn’t too impressed by it. However I shall see how this shade works for me.

Protective Dual Powder Foundation — This is the 2 way cake which is my HG at the moment.

Protective Fluid Foundation –  I always wanted to try P&J’s LF. I think I saw the new version on sale too but really, why did they discontinue my favorite shade!

Face Powder — Well, I have heard raves about this product. Though I’m not in urgent need of a LP but since it was only $23…

Lipstick a – this shall be for my mother!

The buys were really great at a whooping 70% off (I think). But then again, the screwed up management gave screwed up prices so I can’t be sure that I got my stuff at the correct prices.

My makeup endeavour doesn’t just end here. (in fact I don’t think it would end as long as I’m breathing)

88 palette! It actually turned out to be smaller than what I had imagined.

Bought the MUFE HD powder dupe too. This powder is really strange. When I opened the lid some smoke like thing came fuming out. I thought it was the powder flying all over but nooooo.. when I applied it on my face I felt a warm sensation! Omg. It could be smoke or something? Like the powder subliming in contact with the atmosphere or my skin or something! And the texture is really not something I’m used to seeing. I really got the photoshopped finish when using this.

Bought 2 jars to fill my powder with & it was really small. Wish I had gotten the bigger one. & the eye liner was free.

Alright my haul for this week ends here! What a sinful week.
